Congratulations to the Lyerly Fire Department on achieving an ISO Rating of 5 during their recent inspection. Great job guys and thanks for keeping the community safe!
GREAT NEWS, this afternoon Mayor Josh Wyatt received confirmation of approval from GEFA concerning the $894,900 loan the town had applied for to fund the remainder of the water project inside the town limits. The town is slated to receive $645,109 in the form of a low interest loan at 1.13% and the remaining $249,291 will be given as a grant of principal forgiveness.
The year 2011 was a great year for Lyerly and it now appears that 2012 is off to a great start also. Since August of 2011 the Town of Lyerly has been awarded almost
$1 million dollars in grant funding. ($985,021.00)

The Town of Lyerly, in beautiful Chattooga County, Georgia, has the small town charm of the old days. The town provides water & sewer service for it's citizens and water service to a large area outside the town limits as well as fire protection to the town and a large area surrounding it. The Town has a wonderful park with a walking track, pavilion, and two baseball fields. Lyerly is also home to Lyerly Elementary school, a K-8 school that has been here since 1889.
